I've been doing some reading lately on Intermittent Fasting and thought I'd give it a go to jump start my weight loss and hopefully get me under the weights I've been struggling with. Ideally I'd like to drop about 10 pounds quickly then get back on my weight watchers plan cause i know it works.
I gave my first shot to IF the other day. The plan was to eat dinner Sunday evening then go from 6pm that day to 6pm the next day without eating. It didnt exactly go as planned. I did however make it from 6pm Sunday to about 4pm Monday evening (22 hours instead of 24) not bad for my first time. It was actually alot easier than i expected. I was hungry, but i drank lots of water, tea and diet pop to curb my hunger which seemed to help. I did not feel lightheaded or dizzy as I expected. The biggest problem I encountered was that I came off my fast at a friends bbq so ate way too much food afterwards (amazing how much you can eat after going that long without food, lol) so i didnt see any improvement on the scale. (but i ate alot of stuff and didnt go up either so i guess thats good)
today i decided to try an alternative way of IF. to only eat during a 5 hour window. I wonder if that will work better? my plan is to not eat all day (ok i have ate 1 timbit before i fully committed) then have a snack at 3, dinner with the family at 5, then a snack at 7. the idea is that i cant possibly eat as much in 5 hours as i would all day.......im going to make sure i dont. of course with doing IF i will be monitoring my weight daily to see how its going. if this is going well i will probably mix the 2. do the 5 hrs eating daily, combined with 1 24hr fast per week. I have got to get past this hurdle im at.
today i weighed in at 174.4. I am hungry but off to drink some water and maybe get C down for a nap to distract me....wish me luck!
